We saw the hurricane coming far ahead of time. Look at the lack of coordination that ensued. Not to be too alarmist, but this ABC News piece on the Avian flu is worth a read. Sure, there is the everpresent threat of terror, but I think the resources needed to deal with a very real global pandemic are taking a back burner to it. We need to start thinking about this now. The scope could be far greater that even those WMDs we heard so much nonsense about.
